FAQ
Will Command strips actually hold on textured or freshly painted walls?
Not reliably on heavy texture — the adhesive needs full contact with a smooth surface. On fresh paint, most manufacturers recommend waiting the paint's full cure time (often 7+ days) before applying, since uncured paint can pull away with the strip. Do tension rods damage walls or trim?
Not when sized correctly and not overloaded — they work by spring pressure against the frame, not fasteners. Overloading or oversizing a rod for its span is what causes the rubber end caps to slip and mark trim. Our sizing guide covers safe spans by rod diameter.
Is peel-and-stick backsplash actually removable without damaging tile or drywall?
It depends on the adhesive type and how it's removed — heat-assisted removal at a low angle is far safer than pulling straight off cold. We tested and tabled removal methods by adhesive type on our backsplash removal page.
Can I swap a faucet or showerhead without a plumber?
For aerators and showerheads, yes — these are threaded connections designed for hand-tightening, and keeping the original parts makes reversal simple at move-out. See our thread-compatibility guide.
